Origin story

Where MSC comes from

MSC grew out of Austin’s art community, with roots in paint demos, workshops and bus tours before 2019. Mason Lackey, Bailey Pownall and Joemark “Squid” Asevedo co-founded Mural Supply Co. That community work continues through the shop, print and fabrication projects, and festivals made with artists and local partners.

The team

What happens at 2324

The counter sells spray paint, caps, markers and tools to artists who come in for a can or a full wall's worth. Print jobs, stickers, decals, banners, window and floor graphics, go out through MSC Prints. Wall prep, buildouts and festival production are planned from here, this year that included TerraTx in Frio Canyon and Okavango Art Exchange in Maun.

The courtyard fills up too: our anniversary night in October 2026 had bands, live painting and an artist market, and the Austin Studio Tour stops at 2324 in November.

Festivals

We created and run Okavango Art Exchange in Maun, Botswana, produced by our Botswana team with support from Austin and local partners, including its artist residency, Visual Epiphany.

We helped kick off two annual mural festivals, Looking Up and Beaumont Mural Fest (BMF), and co-created and co-produced Rev Up the Arts. For TerraTx Art Fest in Frio Canyon we spent nearly two years planning with the organizers, then coordinated artists and materials, prepped walls and ran on-site production.
